In this comprehensive guide, we’ll look at all electric vehicles offered in Australia and list their claimed WLTP ranges.
WLTP stands for ‘Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure’ and is a global standards that car manufacturers use to measure electric vehicle range, amongst other things. It provides a fairly accurate assessment of the vehicle’s efficiency taking into account real-world driving conditions. It replaces the older NEDC standard.
Range is king when it comes to EVs, and it’ll be a while until tech advances enough for the number to become insignificant. While there are few EVs out these days with truly unusable, short ranges, this list will offer a good contrast between what’s become industry standard, and what’s become outdated.
We’ve listed almost every EV car brand in Australia, which hopefully is useful if you’re in the market for a new electric vehicle. Just be mindful that battery warranties vary by car brand.

1. Audi
Audi do not specifically mention any WLTP stats. Instead, all they offer are battery capacities for their electric vehicle range. However upon further investigation, we managed to find some range stats from their UK counterpart.

MG Australia’s website did not reveal the WLTP range of the ZS EV, but we did find it from their European website.

It was really difficult researching the driving range for Mercedes-Benz EVs because they don’t openly state the WLTP figures. It’s hidden in a blog post. And they’ve made so many changes to their EV range in the past 6 months, it adds a layer of complexity for anyone even considering a Mercedes EV.
